MBHA Statement on Anti-Asian and Anti-Black Violence
Tuesday, March 30, 2021

Mount Baker Housing Association is devoted to building brighter futures for our communities, our partners, and our dedicated employees. Because of that, we denounce the anti-Asian and anti-Black intimidation, hate, and violence happening across the country: the mass shootings, the violence, and the attempts to silence marginalized voices. This is deplorable and unforgivable. These acts, together with institutionalized racism and discrimination, crush the futures of all. No one should live in fear and without hope for peace and a prosperous future.

Our community will not be silent, unseen, or unfelt. We will be heard.

We urge all to learn and spread the stories of the people in our community, to humanize those who have been dehumanized. We at Mount Baker Housing promise to highlight the stories of great courage, tenacity, and hope within our community. And we promise to strive always to create fair, just, and safe futures for all.
